Steven was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in the Queensland Supreme Court in 1998 and in the High Court of Australia in 1999.
After a 20 year career as a chef Steven return to tertiary study gaining a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University in 1998.
After working for a number of prominent ligitation firms (in both a Plaintiff and Defendant capacity), Steven joined Biggs Fitzgerald Pike as a partner in 2001.
Steve’s main area of practice is in personal injury and compensation law. He is a skilled litigator who has extensive experience in:-
- Workplace accidents and worker’s compensation
- Motor vehicle accident claims
- Public liability claims
- Asbestos compensation
- Medical negligence claims
- Abuse claims and redress schemes
- Bicycle accident claims
- Criminal compensation
Steven also practises in criminal law as well as general and estate litigation. Steven has appeared in criminal and civil appeals. In 2015, Steven instructed Counsel in a successful special leave application in High Court and subsequent appeal before the Full Court.
A keen cyclist, Steven has a particular interest in providing legal assistance to cyclists who have been injured and/or suffered property damage in traffic accidents.
